Choco Coffee Banananut Shake
If you’re anything like me, you craveeee something indulgent after a workout, or maybe just feel like you deserve it because you did, after all, just worked out! Instead of surrendering to your craving and ruining all of your hard work, opt for a protein smoothie to fuel and replenish your muscles! This specific smoothie has all the components of an indulgent snack anddd is full of the nutrients your body needs after a sweat inducing workout. The chocolate/coffee combo comes from a great superfood powder I found at my local health foods store. The brand is Essential Living Foods: Coco Gogo Energy Elixir. I also use this mix for making hot lattes with almond milk! Add a spoon full of your favorite nut butter, a frozen banana, and a scoop of protein powder and you have the fixin’s of a great smoothie.
Protein Shake for 1
5 ice cubes
1 banana (if frozen omit the ice cubes)
2 tablespoons Coco Energy Elixir ( or just cocoa powder)
1 scoop protein powder ( I use Jay Robb’s unflavored egg white protein)
1 tablespoon nut butter of choice
6 oz. almond milk or liquid of choice
Combine all ingredients into a blender and mix until smooth! Depending on the size of your blender ( I used a single serve magic bullet ) you may need more or less of a liquid.
