Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
There is ONE thing a salad must always have… homemade dressing! Not only is fresh dressing so much more flavorful than its counter part, it is also wayyy healthier than even your “heathiest” choices (umm sitting unrefrigerated on a shelf for months at a time..no thank you)! Dressings are amazingly simple to make, and trust me, your dinner guests will be so impressed (and thank you) when you pull out a fancy glass of your delicious creation instead of any old name brand bottle. I love the somewhat spiciness taste you get from the garlic and chives, but also that it’s rounded out by the creaminess of the sour cream. This dressing is great for veggie snacking or for being poured over your favorite spring time greens.
Buttermilk Ranch: about 4 cups
16 oz. sour cream
1 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 large clove of garlic, smashed
1/4 cup chives, chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
2 teaspoons salt
sprinkle of pepper
In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth, taste for seasoning (add more salt or pepper if desired). Store in dressing bottle or air tight container up to 3 weeks.
