How to cut a Butternut Squash

Cutting a hearty fall/winter squash can be pretty difficult, sometimes hard to figure out where to even start.  Below are step by step pictures to help you master squash cutting and execute your favorite fall dishes in less time!

Lay the squash on its side and cut both ends off

Cut down the middle where the rounded part meets the longer end.

Place each end flat side down and begin to work around edges removing the skin.

Cut the “bulb” part down the middle to reveal the seeds.

Scoop out the seeds and discard. Continue to cut (cubes, strips, etc.) according to recipe.
