The Blog:

It is no secret that life revolves around food.  From the ingredients, to the cooking, and eventually the eating, food is one of, if not the biggest necessities in our lives.  Whisk and Season will be a collection of recipes, health tips, stories, and photos that will be sure to inspire your inner chef and satisfy your taste buds.  Recipes will come from the heart, focusing on the things that I love most: cooking simply, using fresh ingredients, supporting local farms, eating seasonally, and sharing moments with family and friends that are created around a table full of delicious food.  Whether you are lost in the kitchen or just looking to add variety to life’s daily menu,  W&S is sure to have a little something for everyone.

Me:

While I’m not really sure how to explain it, ever since I was young I knew I wanted to be a chef.  I didn’t “grow up” in a restaurant surrounded by family members who were cooks or claimed to have been a foodie that lived and breathed the industry, I just found something I was good at and embraced it.  Now, even in my mid-twenties, I have friends who still have a hard time boiling water (love you!) when at 12 years old I was making shrimp scampi and homemade layer cakes.  Cooking was something I enjoyed and felt confident with, and while I’ll admit there was a time I dreamt of being the next Food Network star, I have come to realize that being a chef isn’t just a career where I always need to be the next best thing, being a chef is my life.

Through triumphs and struggles, cooking will always ground me, even if after a long day at work taking out my knife to make myself a meal is the last thing I want to do, I always find a way to fall back into love with food.  My hope for this blog is not only to share my passion with you but to continue to learn and grow within my own life while bringing you along for the ride!

Disclaimer * I used to think I was pretty savvy when it came to computers and then I decided to start a blog and realized there is so much more to the computer world that I know nothing about!  Please bare with me as I try to navigate my way through this new adventure, tweaking and experimenting as I go!
